Pan-seared scallops in a creamy sauce on a pink-rimmed plate, golden-brown and lightly peppered.

Plump sea scallops seared until golden and bathed in fresh garlic butter with a squeeze of lemon and chopped parsley. Restaurant elegance in under 10 minutes.

Ingredients

  • 1½ lbs large sea scallops, patted dry
  • 3 Tbsp butter
  • 1 Tbsp olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • 1 Tbsp chopped parsley
  • Juice of ½ lemon

Instructions

Pat scallops completely dry to ensure a golden sear. Season both sides with salt and pepper.

Heat olive oil and butter in a cast iron skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, place scallops in a single layer without overcrowding.

Sear 2 minutes per side until golden crust forms. Add garlic and sauté 30 seconds.

Finish with lemon juice and parsley.
