Chicken breasts rubbed in a smoky BBQ blend, slow-smoked, and glazed with sweet BBQ sauce and honey. Tender, sticky, and bursting with backyard flavor.
Ingredients
- 4 large boneless skinless chicken breasts
- 2 Tbsp yellow mustard (binder)
Homemade Smoky BBQ Rub
- 2 Tbsp brown sugar
- 2 tsp smoked paprika
- 2 tsp chili powder
- 1½ tsp garlic powder
- 1½ tsp onion powder
- 1½ tsp kosher salt
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp cumin
- ½ tsp cayenne pepper
- ½ tsp dry mustard powder
Instructions
Preheat smoker to 250°. Pat chicken breasts dry with paper towels.
Rub mustard evenly over all sides. Combine all rub ingredients and mix well.
Season chicken generously, pressing rub to adhere. Place chicken on smoker grates.
Smoke uncovered for 60 to 75 minutes until internal temperature reaches 165°. Whisk glaze ingredients together.
During last 10 minutes of smoking, brush chicken generously with sweet BBQ glaze. Allow glaze to set and become sticky.
Remove chicken from smoker and rest 5 minutes before slicing.
