Fresh green beans sautéed in sesame oil with garlic, soy sauce, and a touch of honey, finished with sesame seeds and red pepper. An Asian-inspired side ready in 10 minutes.
Ingredients
- 1 lb fresh green beans, trimmed
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 Tbsp olive oil or sesame oil
- 2 Tbsp low-sodium soy sauce
- 1 tsp honey or brown sugar
- ¼ tsp black pepper
- ½ tsp crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
- 1 tsp sesame seeds (optional)
Instructions
Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add trimmed green beans and sauté for 6 to 8 minutes, stirring often, until tender-crisp.
Add minced garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant. Pour in soy sauce and honey.
Season with black pepper and red pepper flakes if using. Stir well and cook for 1 to 2 minutes until beans are glazed.
Remove from heat and sprinkle with sesame seeds if desired. Serve warm and enjoy.
