Sliced sweet potatoes simmered in a buttery glaze of brown sugar, granulated sugar, and pure maple syrup until tender and caramelized. Southern holiday comfort in a skillet.
Ingredients
- 3 large sweet potatoes, peeled and sliced
- 4 Tbsp butter
- ½ cup brown sugar
- ¼ cup granulated sugar
- 1/4cup pure maple syrup
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- Pinch salt
Instructions
Melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add sweet potatoes and toss to coat evenly.
Sprinkle brown sugar and granulated sugar over potatoes. Cook 18 to 22 minutes, stirring occasionally, until fork tender.
Pour in maple syrup and vanilla. Reduce heat to low and simmer 5 to 7 minutes until sauce thickens and becomes glossy.
Remove from heat and rest 5 minutes before serving.
