Chicken breasts rubbed with melted garlic butter, fresh parsley, oregano, basil, and thyme, then slow-smoked for deeply seasoned, juicy results. Backyard barbecue with restaurant polish.
Ingredients
- 4 large boneless skinless chicken breasts
- 2 Tbsp olive oil
- 3 Tbsp melted butter
- 2 Tbsp brown sugar
- 2 Tbsp olive oil
- 2 tsp smoked paprika
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tsp chili powder
- 1 Tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
- 1½ tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1½ tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp dried basil
- 1½ tsp kosher salt
- ½ tsp thyme
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp lemon juice
- 1 tsp cumin
- ½ tsp cayenne pepper
- ½ tsp dry mustard powder
Instructions
Preheat smoker to 250°. Pat chicken breasts dry.
Brush lightly with olive oil. Combine rub ingredients and coat chicken evenly.
Place chicken on smoker grates. Smoke uncovered for 60 to 75 minutes until internal temperature reaches 165°.
Whisk garlic herb glaze ingredients together. During last 10 minutes of smoking, brush chicken generously with glaze.
Allow glaze to melt and coat chicken. Remove from smoker and rest 5 minutes before serving.
